How you could have submitted an abstract!

Abstracts have been accepted for presentations and posters in clinical research and care, updates on services and clinical programs are now closed.

Participation is open to health professionals and community service providers in any field related to Spina Bifida. The following topics will be covered at the conference:

  • Paediatric
  • Transition/Adult care
  • Orthopaedics
  • Urology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Neuropsychology
  • Nutrition and Exercise
  • Antenatal Screening
  • Education and Employment
  • Mental Health
  • Nursing/Allied Health Workshops (Wheelchair; Physiotherapy and Continence)

Abstract Submission Guidelines


There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit. If selected the presenter must be one of the co-authors listed and will still be required to pay a registration fee.

Ownership of work:

Please note, by submitting your abstract to this conference you are agreeing to transfer ownership of copyright for the abstract and its content to the 2012 National Spina Bifida Conference to enable publication of the abstract.

Abstract format:

  1. Abstracts will be submitted via email to Joanne Brady ( and Julie Dicker (
  2. The abstract language is English
  3. The abstract text should not exceed 300 words
  4. The abstract must consist of 3 paragraphs labelled
  5. Indicate the preferred type of presentation: oral or poster presentation. The final decision will be made by the selection committee.
